Advanced audience filtering is an extra layer of targeting filters available in the Audience screen during campaign creation.
You can use these filters to remove targets from your campaigns and refine your audience even further. π
These filters become available after all your targets are loaded, and they search through every field in their LinkedIn accounts, making them much more precise than what LinkedIn generally offers. They also offer unique options like filtering based on whether profiles have a paid LinkedIn subscription. π
Currently supported filters include:
Language
Current company
Past company
School
Location
Premium LinkedIn member status
Filtering operations
Once filtered, you can either Delete these targets from the campaign, or Export their data for later use, whether in a List campaign or anywhere else.
Deleted targets will not be enrolled in this campaign, and will show up normally in other campaigns if they match their targeting criteria.
All your currently filtered targets are automatically selected. Selecting individual targets overrides this selection and lets you remove, or export just them.
Filtering limitations
Advanced audience filters are available for all campaign types, except Drip campaigns. The limitation only exists because Drip campaigns already have access to these filters when setting up the initial targeting.
Important: The filters require all targets to be fully loaded before they can be applied. This can take some time, depending on the number of targets.
Best Practices
Advanced Audience filters can be especially powerful with List, Post, Event, and Group Campaigns, since they generally do not offer Company or Location filters.
You can use Advanced Filters with the Export function to create hyper-targeted CSV files for later use, even with different LinkedIn accounts.
Using multiple filters relies on using "AND" logic. For example, filtering USA + Premium will return a list of accounts that are located in the USA and have a Premium membership. To use "OR" logic, you will have to filter out your targets in batches.
