Aimfox variables are dynamic fields containing data from your campaign targets, or sender accounts.
Standard variables include basic LinkedIn information such as first name, last name, occupation and location. List campaigns also allow you to set up custom variables with any data you want.
When managing campaigns at scale, it is inevitable that certain fields will have missing data - That is where fallback values come in.
What are fallback values?
Fallback values essentially act as backups for your message variables. You can define a fallback value for each variable, which will automatically be used whenever a target does not have any data for that specific variable.
You can set up a unique fallback value for each variable instance, giving you full control over your campaign messaging and improving customization.
How to Insert Variables
To insert variables into your message templates, follow these steps:
Open the message editor in your campaign.
Click the tag icon below the editor to access the list of variables.
Select the desired variable, such as "First Name."
Save your changes. The variable will auto-populate with each recipient’s data during the campaign. Important Note: Avoid manually typing variable formats (e.g.,
#{{First Name}}). Always use the tag icon to ensure proper functionality.
You can set up a fallback by simply clicking any of your variables in Templates or Campaigns.
Fallbacks only support raw text and cannot use other variables. Additionally, avoid using spintax for inserting variables like first names. Instead, rely on Aimfox’s system variables for accurate personalization.
Sending limitations
Aimfox does not send messages which have any missing variables. This is done to prevent any of your communication being sent without full context or personalization. Make sure to set up fallback variables to ensure all your messages get delivered, especially when using a List Campaign with custom variables. Messages queued before a template update will use the version active at the time of scheduling. Only new or unqueued messages will reflect the updated template. Additionally, always save your sequence after selecting variables during campaign setup to ensure proper functionality.
