Group members campaigns allow you to automatically engage members of any LinkedIn Group that you're a member of.
Unlike a typical LinkedIn search campaign, you can decide how you want to engage your targets with Group campaigns. You can choose to send them a connection request, or a message request - a special type of DM with an automatic introduction from LinkedIn.
Message Requests are a great way to start a conversation with like-minded LinkedIn users, especially since you already have a common topic to discuss. For this reason, group campaigns are some of the best-converting campaign types.
How to create a group campaign
Step 1: Select the campaign type and settings
Go to your Campaigns page and click the "Create Campaign" button to open the campaign builder popup. Choose an Outbound campaign to target 2nd and 3rd connections, or select an Inbound campaign to target only 1st connections. Select Group members campaign.
Configure Settings:
After you've selected the campaign type you want, you will need to configure the main settings for this campaigns. Like with other campaign types, you need to configure which LinkedIn accounts will run your campaign, your Outreach type and the number of Targets you want to engage with.

👥 LinkedIn Accounts: You can now choose to run your campaign with a single account, multiple accounts, or even all accounts within your workspace.
You can find more information on our Multi - Accounts feature here
🔗 Outreach type: Decide if you want to send a Connection Request to your targets (recommended), create an InMail Only campaign, which will not engage all of your targets, only those with open profiles. Or choose a message request
📧 InMail Optimization: Optimize your campaign by sending Free InMails to open profiles. This feature lets you overcome LinkedIn's weekly connection invite limit, and it never uses paid InMails (recommended).
🎯 Targets: Specify the maximum number of targets for your campaign. Aimfox supports up to 10,000 targets per Group members campaign.
Once you are satisfied, click "Create campaign" to create a draft version of your campaign and move to the next step.
Step 2: Select the Target Group
After creating the campaign, you must select the group you want to Target. Aimfox will get the most relevant leads from the group and queue them up for your campaign.
If you change your mind after selecting the group, you can always choose another one by clicking "Change group" before proceeding to the next step.
Once you're satisfied with your selection, you can proceed to the next step, where Aimfox will start searching for relevant targets (up to your pre-set limit) in the Group. You need to wait for this process to finish, and then you can move on to the next step immediately.
Step 3: Audience preview
On this screen you can filter out your target accounts even further. By using our Advance audience filtering and selection features you can rest assured that your campaign will have a high success rate.
Advanced Audience Filtering:
You can use these filters to remove targets from your campaigns and refine your audience even further.
Supported filters include:
Language
Current company
Past company
Education
Location
Premium LinkedIn member status
By selecting your targets in this step, you can either Remove them from the campaign, or Export their data in a .CSV format.
Step 4: Set your campaign Flow 💬
Your campaign Flow decides what types of actions Aimfox will perform in this campaign.
Depending on your selected primary action when creating the campaign, you will start with either a connection request, message request or InMail.
Free InMails can be sent regardless of which primary action is selected. Make sure to use InMails whenever possible to make the most of your weekly action limit on LinkedIn.
Connection Request Flow
A connection request is the most common way of growing your LinkedIn network. With this flow, Aimfox will send a connection request to your campaign targets with an optional Note of up to 200 characters.
Free LinkedIn accounts can only send 5 Connection Notes per month, so including a Note in your Campaign is only available for users with a LinkedIn Premium subscription.
Follow-up messages
Your connection request can be followed up with a sequence of direct messages so you can immediately engage your new Leads and start a conversation.
This message sequence triggers when Aimfox detects that a user has accepted your connection request. You can delay every message, even the first one, allowing full customisation.
Your sequence can include as many messages as you want, but we advise using no more than 2-3 to avoid spammy behavior.
All sequences stop as soon as you receive any response from that LinkedIn user.
This is done to prevent sending messages out of context.
Message Request Flow
Message requests are LinkedIn's way of allowing you to easily start a conversation with other users if you are a member of the same group or attending the same event, even if you are not connected.
LinkedIn will automatically include a short introduction when messaging other group members or event attendees. This lets the recipient know why you can chat with them and provides some more context to the conversation.
A Message request flow automates the process of engaging other LinkedIn users with the Message Request feature.
You can create a follow-up sequence after your Message Request to ping your targets with more information or check in with them after a few days.
Step 4.5: Additional Campaign Features
These extra steps improve campaign performance or allow you to gather more data. They are available on all campaign types.
Custom Variables
Our Custom Variables can be used to add a short AI-generated compliment, or fine-tune tone and style. In any case, Custom Variables put the power in your hands.
You can access the Custom Variables when creating new or editing existing templates.
In the above example, we have added two custom variables, shown in blue: "First name" and "Company".
Don’t forget to preview your messages and see how AI and Translate will perform for your campaign. 👀
Auto Translate
Auto-Translate lets you target users globally with each campaign. Aimfox can detect the target’s preferred LinkedIn account language and automatically translate your campaign for maximum effectiveness. Messages can only be translated from English to other languages.
Split testing your Flows
If you're unsure which approach would work best for your audience, Aimfox allows you to create two separate Flows and test which one of them would work better.
After your campaign is created, you will be able to monitor which Flow is producing better results, and you can use that information to improve other campaigns.
Free InMails
You can optimize your campaign by using Free InMails. These are InMails you can send free of charge to Premium LinkedIn users with open profiles. This lets you save your weekly connection or message requests by replacing some of them with InMails. This step will never use your paid InMails, and as with previous steps, AI optimization and Translation are available.
Step 5: Campaign scheduling
In this campaign setup phase, users can specify the days and times when their campaign will be active. Moreover, users can send messages within a designated timezone or schedule them to be sent within the specified timeframe in the recipient's timezone by selecting the “Target’s Timezone” option.
Step 6: Finalize your campaign
Once you've completed all the steps and configured everything, you'll be presented with a preview screen where you can review all the details of the campaign you've created before launching it.
When you're satisfied with everything, simply start the campaign, and you'll be all set to go!
You can start the campaign immediately, schedule the campaign or save it as a draft to launch later.
