Building an audience used to be throwaway work. You picked a campaign type, found your people, and that audience belonged to that one campaign. Wanting to reach the same people again meant starting over.
Lead lists fix that. Your audience is now its own thing, separate from any campaign — built once, reusable, and able to keep itself up to date.
Everything you have today keeps working. Your existing campaigns keep running, with the same people, the same messages and the same schedule. Nothing stops and nothing needs rebuilding.
This article covers what you can do that you couldn't before, what looks different in your dashboard, what happened to your existing campaigns, and the few things that now behave differently.
What you can do now
Combine several sources in one audience
A Lead list is a reusable collection of leads, which are added through Sources: a LinkedIn/Sales Navigator search, a group, an event, a post, a CSV file, a connected CRM, or your own Contacts. A list can hold as many Sources as you want, and Aimfox sorts out anyone who appears in more than one.
You can build a single audience from a Sales Navigator search, an event you attended and a CSV from your sales team, then run one campaign across all of it. Previously that would have been three separate campaigns.
Auto-update your audience
Any Source can be set to refresh on a schedule. It brings in new people who match and keeps existing data current.
Campaigns stay in sync with their list, so anyone a Source brings in is picked up automatically by the campaigns running on it. Set a search to update weekly and your campaign keeps finding people without you touching it.
Reuse an audience across campaigns
One list can have any number of campaigns running on it, so you can try different messaging against the same people without rebuilding the audience each time.
Manage your own data on every lead
Lists are editable. You can add your own Custom variables to any lead and use them in your messages.
Labels and notes work only on Contacts - people you're connected with or in conversation with. For everyone else, use Custom variables.
What's different in your dashboard
There is a new page in the navigation — Lead lists
This is where you manage your lead lists: create them, add and remove Sources, review who's in them, and edit your leads. Campaigns then point at a list rather than finding their own audience.
Your Leads page is now Contacts
The Leads page is renamed to Contacts. It's the same page with the same people: everyone you're connected with, and everyone you have an active conversation with.
The two are easy to tell apart once you know the split. Contacts is who you know. Lead lists are who you want to reach.
Campaigns no longer have a type
You used to pick a campaign type when creating a campaign, and that choice decided where the audience came from. Campaign types are gone.
Now you pick a Lead list instead, and the Sources on that list decide where the people come from. Everything a campaign type used to do, a Source now does — with the difference that one list can have several.
The rest of campaign creation is unchanged: outreach type, exclusion rules, LinkedIn accounts, schedule.
What happened to your existing campaigns
Every campaign you already have now runs on a Lead list, created for it automatically.
Each campaign's audience became a Lead list with one Source, matching the campaign type it used to be. A Search campaign now has a list with a LinkedIn Search Source.
You get one list per campaign, even if two campaigns were targeting the same people.
Your migrated lists don't update themselves. They hold the audience exactly as it was, so no campaign of yours suddenly starts reaching new people. You can turn auto-update on whenever you want.
What works differently
Removing a lead from a list cancels them in campaigns. If a campaign running on that list has already reached them, their run ends there. You can restore them to the list afterwards, but that doesn't put them back into the campaign.
Blacklisting has been improved across the board. It now works across your whole workspace: blacklisting someone cancels them in every campaign they're in. If you blacklist a company, everyone who works there is blacklisted too, and that stays current as people change jobs.
Cancelling is permanent. There's no way to put a cancelled person back into a campaign they were cancelled from - they'd need to go into a new one.
LinkedIn data is read-only. Aimfox pulls job titles, companies and the rest from LinkedIn directly and keeps them current, so there's nothing for you to maintain.
Notes:
Deleting a Source removes its people from the list and cancels them in any campaign. Anyone who also came from another Source on that list stays.
When the same person comes from two Sources, the older Source wins. A CSV you upload today won't overwrite a Custom variable that came from a Source you added last month.
