Free InMails

How Aimfox optimizes your campaigns using Free InMails

Written by Teodora Kostichevska

InMails are LinkedIn's unique form of premium messages that allow you to talk to users outside of your network. They are incredibly powerful since they allow you to directly engage users that you are not connected with and build exciting new opportunities.

While they are mostly a LinkedIn Premium feature, there are actually two types of InMails:

  • Paid InMails - exclusively available to paid LinkedIn users

  • Free InMails - available to everyone

Paid InMails

LinkedIn's Premium plans allow users to send a limited number of InMails each month, depending on their plan. InMail credits are a valuable currency that resets every month.

Aimfox never uses your Paid InMails.

Free InMails

Every Premium account on LinkedIn can opt in to receive an InMail from ANY LinkedIn user, regardless of whether they're on a paid LinkedIn plan. This allows free accounts to contact these users, and lets paid accounts save their limited InMail credits.

This is the type of InMails Aimfox uses.

InMail Optimization

Every Aimfox campaign offers the option of using "InMail Optimization". This automatically finds all targets in your campaign that are open to receiving a Free InMail, and contacts them that way, instead of using your weekly connection or message requests.

Common Issues with InMail Sending

  • Delays in Sending: Early in a campaign, many leads may still be in the "Viewing profile" stage before InMails are sent. This is normal and ensures a gradual, natural sending process.

  • LinkedIn Limits: If your Free InMails aren't sending, it may be because you've reached LinkedIn's weekly limit. Aimfox will automatically resume sending once the limit resets.

Additionally, you have the flexibility to create an InMail-only campaign by setting your outreach type to InMail.

If you do that, the campaign will only send InMails to open profiles and won't use up any of your connections or message requests.

Daily send counts may also vary based on audience eligibility, as only LinkedIn Open Profiles can receive Free InMails. Aimfox spreads activity over time to mimic natural human behavior and reduce the risk of LinkedIn account restrictions.

Best Practices for Optimizing Campaigns

  1. Focus on Priority Campaigns: Pause other active campaigns to allocate resources and interactions to your priority InMail campaign. This can help complete the campaign faster and avoid delays.

  2. Add Multiple Accounts: If you need to increase your total InMail volume, consider adding multiple LinkedIn accounts. This allows you to widen your weekly reach while staying within LinkedIn's safety limits.
